Sentry Savannah 2024 Concludes At The Air Dominance Center

The US Air Force 2024 Sentry Savannah training exercise recently concluded at the Savannah, Georgia Air Dominance Center, an airbase housing the 165th Airlift Wing.

The two-week training event saw an impressive array of elite units gathering some 40 aircraft accompanied by 775 participants.

The impressive line-up of US Air Force and US Air National Guard units aircraft included:

  • T-38 Talons of the 1st Fighter Wing from Joint Base langley-Eustis, Virginia
  • KC-135 Stratotankers of the 185th Air refueling Wing from the Iowa Air National Guard
  • KC-46 Pegasus of the 157th Air Refueling Wing from the New Hampshire Air National Guard
  • F-16 Fighting Falcons of the 169th Fighter Wing from the South Carolina Air National Guard
  • F-15 Eagles of the 125th Fighter Wing from the Florida Air National Guard
  • F-35 Lightning IIs of the 187th Fighter Wing from the Alabama Air National Guard
  • F-22 Raptors of the 1st Fighter Wing from Langley-Eustis, Virginia

According to the web site of the 169th Fighter Wing, Air national Guard, the training exercise help participate in dynamic scenarios in order to test readiness and adaptability. Units are able to delve into evolving US Air Force warfighting concepts such as Agile Combat Employment through simulating missions in high-threat environnments. The utlimate objective is to instill in units the rigors required in order to pursue and sustain air superiority.

According to Air Force Major Luke Weyhmuller, whose South Carolina 169th Fighter Wing F-16s pilots extracted maximum satisfaction from participating in the event, declaring that “the SCANG successfully integrated with F-22s, F-35s, and tactical command and control, enhancing our proficiency in combating a peer threat,”
