On Sunday March 31st Etihad Airways celebrated the inaugural flight of its Abu Dhabi to Boston route operating under flight EY147. The new destination is the airline’s fourth direct flight service from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates to the United States after Chicago, New York and Washington. Flight EY147 operates four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using a Boeing 787-9 configured with 28 Business “Studios” seats and 262 Economy “Smart” seats.
The brand new Boeing 787-9 aircraft that are deployed on the route are also fitted with in-flight wifi connectivity and in-seat power plugs.
For its maiden voyage, Etihad Airways flight EY147 departed Abu Dhabi International Airport at 3:18 am local time and arrived at Boston logan airportat 8:44 am after a 13 hours and 26 minutes flight.
The returning flight, designated Etihad Airways flight 148 departed Bston Logan International Airport at 16:03 local time and arrived in Abu Dhabi at 12:32 local time after a 12 hours and 29 minutes flight.
In addition to the four routes operated in the United States, Etihad Airways services to North America also comprises a direct flight from Abu Dhabi to Toronto in Canada.
